Teaching our children about recycling, it’s important, and how to do it is essential if you want to make our planet a safe place for them to live, and for their children. Once of the most important ways that parents and teachers can do this is by leading by example. This means living green, being responsible and recycling whenever possible. When you’re child sees that you’re doing these different things, they are going to want to do this also. There are a some very small habits in their daily life that you can start changing now, to help them understand.
Fill bathtubs up only as much as needed, instead of high. This is going to help preserve water and explain to them that water needs to be conserved. Always shut off the faucet while brushing your teeth as well. You want to put all glass, aluminum, plastic, paper, and other products that can be recycled around your home into their correct bins every night, and let them help you do it. Try to reuse things before having have recycle them, like the back sides of paper that a child has colored on, or using a jar or can to store utensils.
